An evergreen tree or shrub reaching to 15' with a similar spread. The showy, edible flowers and guava-like fruits appear only after a hot summer. The pineapple guava can be formed into a single-trunked small tree or it can be clipped as a hedge. Feijoas prefer a warm, frost-free climate, but can grow in areas with very mild frosts in a sheltered, sunny spot. Well-drained, humus-rich soil and ample water while the fruits mature. Zones 9-11
