This marginally frost-hardy, evergreen, woody climber reaches about 15' and bears large clusters of trumpet flowers in early spring and summer. The flowers are deep purple in bud and when first opened, but quickly turn a pale lavender and eventually white. The flowers are deliciously fragrant with the scent of vanilla. A vigorous vine, its tendrils cling to brick and stone surfaces. This is great for a sunny position, they like moist, but well-drained soil. Zones 9-11
